Our Standards
CHEMICAL FREE
We want to build the ecology of our farm from the soil up, so we never use chemical sprays on our grains.
HAND-SELECTED VARIETIES
We’ve chosen varieties of wheat that come from a time when flavor was important. Modern wheat is bred for yield and disease resistance, not taking flavor into account.
ATTENTION TO NUTRITION
We only sift off the largest chunks of bran from our flour, leaving most of the protein, fiber, and flavor.
Our Primary Goal
Increase the nitrogen, carbon, organic material, and microbial life in our soil.
We achieve this by doing a heavy cover crop rotation, inoculating our seed with microbes that create a symbiotic relationship with the soil.
Our Secondary Goal
Bring locally grown and milled flour to our community for sustainability and resilience in a post-COVID world.
